Why Twin Cities Music Tours?
A Passion For Music and Twin Cities History
Twin Cities Music Tours is unique because our passion for Twin Cities history and popular music history inspires us to seek out the locations and stories that we know music fans want. How do we know? Because we’re big time music history and Twin Cities history fans. We don’t just google it. We’ve spent countless hours in historical societies and libraries reviewing newspaper archives and property records, finding old photos, and pounding the pavement researching the places we show you on a TCMT tour — all in an effort to provide a completely unique and memorable experience.
Passionate and Experienced Guides
Our tour guides love the Twin Cities, love music history, and we love sharing both with our guests — and it comes across in the tour. Our guides are storytellers with extensive experience conducting tours.
Historic Locations That Produce “Oh Wow” Moments
Our goal is to produce “Oh Wow” moments for both casual and hardcore music fans alike. We take pride in showing our guests the places that produce true “oh wow” moments…and we’re not just talking about legendary sites like First Avenue and the Bob Dylan mural. We show you the iconic sites, but we also show you the legendary places long gone to history. We take you to these sites and through our presentation make them come alive again, blowing the minds of even the biggest music fans.
Our online reservation and payment system makes scheduling your tour easy. You can make your reservation months in advance, days in advance, or even the day of the tour. Payment is easy and secure. And if you love your experience with TCMT and know a music fan who would also love a Twin Cities Music Tour, you can purchase a gift certificate so they can book a tour when it is convenient for them.

What People Are Saying
I really enjoyed it. I knew there would be lots of Prince and Bob Dylan but I was blown away by the country music and punk music landmarks. Very enjoyable.
One of the nicest surprises on my recent trip to Minneapolis was the Twin Cities Music Tour. The tour took about 2 hours and it involved a pleasant walk past historic sites in the downtown area. Our guide Mark was quite knowledgeable and it was exciting to see so many spots that influenced Prince and help create some of the best music produced in the 90’s and beyond. This tour is a MUST for any Prince fans and provides a nice interlude before spending the evening enjoying music at 1st Ave or any of the other many great music venues that Minneapolis has to offer. It’s a perfect way to explore Minneapolis for those of us looking for light exercise and a chance to share our love of Prince and Music in general.
This was a great tour with lots of music history. Nice mix of places I knew about (the murals, First Avenue, etc.) with a lot of lesser-known sites mixed in. Really enjoyed the walk, and there were lots of spots to take good photos too.
